1. In 1635, the first public school in America was established in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Latin School opened its doors on April 14th and has since become one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in the country.

5. In 1986, the Boston Celtics set an NBA record by winning their 63rd game of the season. Led by Larry Bird, the team would go on to win the NBA Championship that year, cementing their place as one of the greatest teams in basketball history.
