2. Oklahoma becomes a state: On November 16, 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th state to join the United States. Prior to its statehood, Oklahoma had been Indian Territory and was home to numerous Native American tribes.

3. Land Run of 1889: On April 22, 1889, Oklahoma was opened for settlement in what became known as the Land Run of 1889. Thousands of people flocked to Oklahoma to stake their claim on land that was previously owned by Native Americans.

4. Black Wall Street: In the early 20th century, the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma, commonly known as "Black Wall Street," was a thriving center of Black business and cultural activity. On May 31 and June 1, 1921, a white mob destroyed the district in one of the deadliest acts of racial violence in American history.

5. Will Rogers: Will Rogers was a famous comedian and actor from Oklahoma. He was born on November 4, 1879, in Indian Territory (which would later become part of Oklahoma). Rogers became a well-known performer in vaudeville and on radio and appeared in numerous films throughout his career. He died in a plane crash on August 15, 1935, in Alaska.
