1. In 1875, the city of North Platte was incorporated. North Platte is a city in western Nebraska and was an important railroad town during the 1800s.

2. In 1948, the Nebraska State Capitol building was officially completed. It was designed by architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue and is considered to be one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the United States.

3. On April 4, 1967, boxer Ron Stander made his professional debut. Stander, who was born in Nebraska and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, went on to become a heavyweight contender in the 1970s.

4. In 1975, the first college rodeo held in Nebraska took place in Hastings. Since then, rodeo has become a popular sport throughout the state, with many high schools and colleges offering rodeo teams.

5. On April 4, 2007, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln unveiled a new logo and branding system. The new design was created to reflect the university's mission and values, and to provide a consistent identity across all of its campuses and programs.
