2. In 1950, the town of Gabbs, Nevada was incorporated. Located in Mineral County, Gabbs was founded as a mining town in the early 20th century. Today, Gabbs is home to less than 300 residents, but it remains an important base for mining and other industries in the region.

3. On April 4, 1975, the Nevada State Assembly approved legislation to establish the Nevada State Gaming Control Board. The board was created to oversee the state's thriving gaming industry, which today generates billions of dollars in revenue each year.

4. In 1983, Las Vegas police arrested notorious gangster Tony "The Ant" Spilotro on charges of running an illegal casino. Spilotro was a member of the Chicago Outfit, and was known for his ruthless tactics and connection to organized crime. After years of investigation, Spilotro was finally brought to justice and sentenced to life in prison.

5. On April 4, 1996, the Tropicana Las Vegas opened its doors. The iconic resort and casino has been a fixture on the Las Vegas Strip for over two decades, and has undergone several renovations and upgrades over the years. Today, the Tropicana is known for its colorful decor, tropical atmosphere, and world-class gaming and entertainment options.
