3. The first Ford Motor Company vehicle, the Quadricycle, was completed on April 5, 1896. The Quadricycle was the first gasoline-powered vehicle built by Henry Ford, and was the precursor to the Model T.

4. In 1982, the Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team won the NIT Championship, defeating Rutgers University 64-48 in the final game. This was the Wolverines' first NIT championship since 1964.

5. On April 5, 1974, the Michigan State legislature approved the establishment of the Michigan State Lottery. The lottery began selling tickets in November of that year, and has since generated over $20 billion in revenue for the state of Michigan.
