1. In 1802, the Arkansas Post Office was established, becoming the first post office within the current state boundaries.

3. In 1891, the University of Arkansas was founded in Fayetteville, becoming the state's flagship public university.

4. On August 17, 1915, the Arkansas Highway Commission was established to oversee the development and maintenance of the state's transportation infrastructure.

5. In 1930, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission was founded to manage and protect the state's wildlife resources, including managing hunting and fishing regulations and implementing conservation efforts.
