1. The first train robbery in Missouri occurred on August 7, 1874. The robbery took place on the Missouri Pacific Railroad near Gad's Hill, and the robbers made off with $10,000 in cash and valuables.

2. On August 7, 1933, Bonnie and Clyde and their gang robbed the Central National Bank in Columbia, Missouri. The robbery was their first bank robbery and they made off with $1,500.

3. James Earl Ray, the man who assassinated Martin Luther King Jr., escaped from the Missouri State Penitentiary on August 7, 1967. He was recaptured three days later in Nashville, Tennessee.
