4. On December 12, 1970, the Buckeye Bullet, a high-speed experimental train, set a speed record of 183.85 miles per hour on a test track in Ohio. The train was designed to showcase new technologies and was an important step in the development of faster and more efficient trains.

5. The Ohio State Buckeyes won the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship on December 12, 2015. The Buckeyes defeated the Oregon Ducks 42-20 to claim their eighth national championship in football. Ohio State has a storied football program and is one of the most successful college football teams in history.
