1. On December 12, 1921, the Milwaukee Art Institute opened a new building that would eventually become the Milwaukee Art Museum. The building was designed by architects Ferry & Clas and featured a grand entrance hall, galleries, and classrooms.

2. In 1833, three delegates from Wisconsin met with Congress in Washington, D.C. to petition for the establishment of a territorial government. Their efforts were successful, and the Territory of Wisconsin was created the following year.

3. On December 12, 1901, the Wisconsin State Capitol building in Madison was completed. The building, designed by architect George B. Post, features a dome that is the largest granite dome in the world.

4. In 1917, the city of Milwaukee hosted the National Motor Truck Show, which featured displays of the latest trucks and trucking equipment. The event attracted thousands of visitors and helped to establish Milwaukee as a major center of the trucking industry.

5. On December 12, 1988, the Wisconsin Badgers football team defeated the Duke Blue Devils in the All-American Bowl. The game, which was played at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama, was the first bowl victory for the Badgers since 1963.
