1. Missouri became a state on December 19, 1820. It was admitted to the Union as the 24th state.

5. In 2007, the Sprint Center, a world-class multi-purpose arena in Kansas City, Missouri, hosted its first event on December 19. The arena has since hosted numerous concerts, sporting events, and other entertainment shows.
