1. In 1867, the Wyoming Territory was officially created by an Act of Congress. At the time, it included what is now Wyoming, Montana, and a portion of South Dakota.

2. In 1890, statehood was granted to Wyoming, making it the 44th state in the United States.

3. On December 26, 1908, the town of Brownie, Wyoming, was completely destroyed by a massive winter storm. Many residents of the town were forced to take refuge in nearby ranches until the storm passed.

4. In 1970, the University of Wyoming football team won the Fiesta Bowl, defeating Arizona State University by a score of 28-20. This was the first major bowl victory in the university's football history.

5. December 26, 2010, marked the beginning of a massive blizzard that struck southeastern Wyoming, causing widespread power outages, highway closures, and property damage. Some areas received up to two feet of snow, and the storm was responsible for several fatalities.
