1. In 1847, the first company of Mormon pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley, led by Brigham Young. This historic event marked the beginning of the settlement and colonization of Utah by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She went on to become a beloved actress and was tragically killed in a plane crash in 1942 while promoting the sale of war bonds.
