1. On February 10, 1733, the first group of Jewish immigrants arrived in the colony of Georgia. Led by Portuguese physician and rabbi Samuel Nunes, the small group of settlers joined the early colonists who had arrived the previous year under the leadership of James Oglethorpe.

2. In 1861, on February 10th, Georgia became the fifth state to secede from the Union at the outbreak of the American Civil War. Georgia joined the Confederacy and played a significant role in the war's battles, including the famous Sherman's March to the Sea in 1864.

3. The Georgia State Capitol building was dedicated on February 10, 1889. The building was designed by architect Willoughby J. Edbrooke and built in Italian Renaissance Revival style. It served as the home of Georgia's government until a new Capitol building was completed in 1966.

4. On February 10, 1942, the United States Army established a new training center at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. Named after Revolutionary War hero Brigadier General Henry Benning, the fort became a major center for infantry training during World War II.

5. In 2018, on February 10th, the city of Atlanta hosted the annual Super Bowl. The game between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles was held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which had opened the previous year. The Eagles won the game 41-33, earning their first Super Bowl championship.
