1. In 1710, the New Hampshire House of Representatives was established by the colonial government. This legislative body has been the lawmaking authority of the state since its inception over 300 years ago.

2. The town of Bedford was incorporated on February 15, 1750. Located in Hillsborough County, this community was named after the fourth Duke of Bedford, John Russell.

3. On February 15, 1835, the New Hampshire Legislature passed a bill prohibiting the sale of alcohol. This law, known as the "Maine Law," was one of the earliest attempts to enforce temperance in the United States.

4. In 1943, the Portsmouth Naval Prison was established in New Hampshire. This maximum-security facility was designed to house some of the most dangerous criminals in the military. It remained operational until 1974, when it was closed due to budget cuts.

5. On February 15, 2021, New Hampshire experienced a record-breaking snowstorm that dumped over 30 inches of snow on some areas of the state. This blizzard caused power outages, closed roads and schools, and disrupted daily life for many residents throughout the region.
