On February 2, 1814, Kamehameha III was born in Keauhou Bay, Hawaii. Kamehameha III was the third king of Hawaii and was responsible for establishing Hawaii's first constitution in 1840.

5. The Battle of Kepaniwai
On February 2, 1790, the Battle of Kepaniwai took place on Maui. This battle was fought between Kamehameha I and Maui chief Kalanikupule and was a crucial victory for Kamehameha in his quest to unite the Hawaiian islands. Today, visitors to the Island of Maui can visit the site of the battle, which is now known as the Kepaniwai Heritage Gardens.
