4. On February 5, 1953, the Super Bowl II champions Baltimore Colts were established as a football franchise in the National Football League. They played in Baltimore until 1984 when the team was moved to Indianapolis.

5. In 2019, Maryland became the first state in the United States to ban foam food containers. This was in response to concerns over the negative impact of Styrofoam on the environment, and the law went into effect on February 5, 2020.
