1. On January 14, 1891, the Arkansas State Capitol building was completed. Designed by architect George R. Mann, the building is constructed in a neoclassical style and is one of the tallest structures in Little Rock.

2. In 1913, on January 14, the Arkansas House of Representatives passed a bill establishing the Arkansas State Police. The bill was introduced in response to a series of violent strikes by coal miners and required the state police to be trained in the use of firearms and able to maintain order in cases of civil unrest.

3. January 14, 1963 saw the opening of the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas. Covering more than 1.2 million acres, the forest offers hiking, camping, fishing, and other recreational opportunities to visitors.

4. On January 14, 1974, the Arkansas General Assembly approved the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. The act grants citizens of Arkansas the right to access records and documents of state government agencies.

5. In 2004, on January 14, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum was dedicated in Little Rock. The library houses over 2 million photographs, 80 million documents, and 21 million email messages from Clinton's presidency. It also includes exhibits and interactive displays about the presidency and Clinton's life and legacy.
