1. On July 10, 1905, the first official automobile race was held in Oregon. The race was organized by the Multnomah Athletic Club and took place at the Portland Meadows racetrack. It was a 10-mile race and was won by driver Fred L. Derr in his Winton car.

5. On July 10, 2009, a chemical explosion occurred at the ConAgra Foods plant in Boardman, Oregon. The explosion killed three workers and injured several others.
