4. On July 13, 1935, the first parking meter in the world was installed in Oklahoma City, but it was invented by Carl C. Magee in Oklahoma City, and the following year, St. Louis became the first city in Missouri to install the devices.
5. In 1984, the Kansas City Royals hosted the All-Star Game at Royals Stadium. The American League won the game 3-1 and the MVP was awarded to shortstop Gary Templeton of the San Diego Padres.
