The command module, which carried Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins safely back to Earth, splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on July 24. 4. On July 21, 1869, the first issue of The Arizona Miner newspaper was published in Prescott. The paper covered local and national news, as well as mining industry developments, and ran for over 40 years.
