3. The Maine State House, located in Augusta, Maine, was dedicated on July 24, 1832. The building, which is still in use today, was designed by architect Charles Bulfinch, who also designed the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

4. On July 24, 1915, the Great Fire of 1915 broke out in the town of Bar Harbor, Maine. The fire destroyed much of the town, including over 400 buildings and several hotels. Despite the extensive damage, there were no fatalities.

5. The iconic Maine Lobster Festival, held annually in Rockland, Maine, typically begins around July 24th each year. The festival features live music, arts and crafts, carnival rides, and of course, plenty of delicious lobster dishes.
