3. In 1863, the Battle of Little Round Top took place during the Civil War. Several New Hampshire regiments played a key role in the battle and helped secure an important Union victory.

4. July 24, 1849, saw the birth of Frances Glessner Lee, who would go on to revolutionize forensic science with her innovative miniature crime scene models. Lee's work helped establish standards for crime scene investigation that are still used today.

5. On July 24, 1901, the first automobile race was held in New Hampshire. The race, which took place on a nine-mile course near Newport, was won by a Benz automobile driven by Charles J. Glidden.
