4. In 1950, the Wisconsin State Fair set a new attendance record when over 1 million people visited the fairgrounds in West Allis. This was the first time that a state fair in the United States had exceeded 1 million attendees, and it remains one of the largest fairs in the country to this day.

5. In 1993, construction began on Miller Park in Milwaukee, the new home of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team. The stadium took nearly a decade to complete, and it opened in 2001 to great fanfare.
