Finally, July 3, 2013 saw the release of Disney's hit animated film "Moana," which drew upon many traditional Hawaiian stories and myths to tell the tale of a young girl's journey across the Pacific. The film was widely acclaimed for its representation of Hawaiian culture and helped to expose millions of viewers to the beauty and richness of the islands' heritage.
