1. In 1910, a devastating wildfire broke out in Wallace, Idaho, destroying much of the town and leaving thousands homeless. The blaze, which was caused by a spark from a passing train, burned for three days and destroyed over 300 homes and several businesses.

2. On June 10, 1939, Idaho's first air ambulance service was established by the Ada County Medical Society. The service, which operated out of Boise's Holy Rosary Hospital, used a single-engine Cessna aircraft equipped with medical equipment to transport patients in need of emergency care.

3. In 1960, the first hydroelectric power plant on the Snake River was completed at Hells Canyon. The plant, which was built by Idaho Power Company, generates over 1,000 megawatts of electricity and provides power to more than 700,000 homes and businesses in Idaho and neighboring states.

4. On June 10, 1968, the Silverwood Theme Park opened its doors for the first time in Athol, Idaho. The park, which covers over 200 acres, features more than 70 rides and attractions, including several roller coasters and a water park.

5. In 1984, the Idaho Historical Museum was established in Boise as a way to preserve and showcase Idaho's rich history and cultural heritage. The museum features exhibits on everything from Native American history to the state's mining and logging industries, and attracts visitors from around the world.
