1. In 1794, French explorer Jean-Francois de Galaup, Comte de La Perouse, arrived in Hawaii on June 13. He spent nine days in the islands, exploring the coast and collecting data for his studies. He named the islands "Archipel des Sandwich" in honor of the British patron who supported his expedition.

2. On June 13, 1825, the first Catholic mass was celebrated in Hawaii by French priests, who came to the islands to spread Christianity. They met a warm welcome from the Hawaiian people, who were curious about their teachings and traditions.

3. In 1887, King Kalakaua, the last king of Hawaii, signed the "Bayonet Constitution" into law on June 13.
