4. In 1923, the A&P Gypsies, a traveling baseball team sponsored by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, played a game in Springfield, Missouri. The A&P Gypsies went on to tour the country for several years, playing against local teams and drawing large crowds.

5. In 1932, the Missouri State Capitol building in Jefferson City was dedicated. The building, which was designed by the architect George D. Barnett, features a distinctive dome and is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the state. The Missouri State Capitol has been the site of several historic events, including the inauguration of Harry S. Truman as the 33rd President of the United States.
