1. In 1892, Wyoming celebrated its first Flag Day on June 6th. This was in honor of the adoption of the state flag, which features the state seal on a blue field.

2. On June 6, 1919, the U.S. Congress passed the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Wyoming was one of the first states to grant women this right, doing so in 1869.

3. In 1923, the first transcontinental airmail service began flying over Wyoming. This service was initially operated by the U.S. Army Air Service, and paved the way for the commercial airline industry.

4. On June 6, 1944, the Allied invasion of Normandy, France, began. While Wyoming was not directly involved in the conflict, many Wyoming residents served in the armed forces during World War II.

5. In 1988, the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153rd Tactical Airlift Group received the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. This group, based in Cheyenne, provides air transportation for the U.S. military and other government agencies.
