1. Florida became a Territory

On March 1, 1822, Florida officially became a territory of the United States. It was previously under the control of Spain and was acquired by the United States through a treaty in 1819.

Disney's Hollywood Studios, formerly known as Disney-MGM Studios, opened on March 1, 1989. The park is dedicated to the golden age of Hollywood and features attractions and entertainment based on popular movies and television shows.
