1. In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell made the first telephone call in New York. On March 10th, he made the first call between Boston and his assistant Thomas Watson in New York City.

3. On March 10, 1915, the city experienced one of the worst blizzards in its history. The storm dropped almost 20 inches of snow on the city and caused widespread disruption to transportation and daily life.

4. The legendary musician and composer, Hoagy Carmichael, was born on March 10, 1899, in Bloomington, Indiana. Although he wasn't from New York, he spent much of his life performing and composing music in the city.

5. In 1922, New York's Woolworth Building became the world's tallest building, standing at 792 feet. It held this title until 1930 when the Chrysler Building overtook it. March 10th marks the anniversary of the Woolworth Building's completion.
