5. On March 23, 2017, Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed a bill into law officially designating the Spiral Jetty as the state's official work of land art. The Spiral Jetty is an outdoor sculpture located in the Great Salt Lake that was created by artist Robert Smithson in 1970.
