1. On March 24, 1754, the town of Goffstown was incorporated. The town was named after Colonel John Goffe, a wealthy merchant and former military officer who praised the land in the area and encouraged settlement.

2. The first recorded snowfall in New Hampshire in March occurred on March 24, 1955. The snowstorm, which dropped up to 16 inches of snow in some areas, caused widespread power outages and travel disruptions throughout the state.

3. On March 24, 1773, the British sloop-of-war Gaspee ran aground off the coast of Rhode Island. A group of colonial patriots, including some from New Hampshire, boarded the ship and set it on fire in protest of British taxation policies. The incident is considered a significant event leading up to the American Revolution.
