1. On March 27, 1886, Apache warrior Geronimo surrendered to the U.S. military at Skeleton Canyon in southeastern Arizona. Geronimo had been fighting against U.S. forces for over a decade.

2. The first ever baseball game in Arizona was played on March 27, 1869 in Tucson. The game was played between the Tucson Baseball Club and a team from the nearby town of Florence.
