1. In 1873, the Idaho Territorial Legislature approved the first public school law providing for the establishment of school districts and public schools throughout the territory.
2. In 1906, the town of Beulah, in Bonner County, was destroyed by a forest fire. The fire burned through the town, destroying or damaging all but five buildings. There were no lives lost in the fire.
3. In 1950, the Idaho Legislature passed a resolution to construct a new state capitol building. The construction began in 1957 and was completed in 1960.
4. In 1995, the Idaho State Legislature approved a bill designating the Western White Pine as Idaho's official state tree.
5. In 2018, the Idaho State Board of Education approved the merger of Eastern Idaho Technical College and College of Eastern Idaho to create a new community college in Idaho.
