3. The first successful automobile race in the United States was held on March 29, 1899, at the Cranbury Park in New Jersey. The race was won by a car called the Winton, which completed the 52-mile race in just over 2 hours.

4. In 1973, the New Jersey Supreme Court ruled that women have a constitutional right to obtain an abortion. This landmark decision made New Jersey one of the first states in the country to legalize abortion before the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision by the U.S. Supreme Court.

5. On March 29, 2012, the New Jersey State Assembly approved a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. However, this bill was later vetoed by then-governor Chris Christie, and it wasn't until 2013 that same-sex marriage was officially legalized in New Jersey.
