3) On March 9, 1965, the Wilmington 10, a group of 10 civil rights activists, were arrested and charged with arson and conspiracy after a riot in Wilmington, Delaware. The convictions of the Wilmington 10 were later overturned due to evidence of prosecutorial misconduct.

4) In 2000, the landmark Delaware Court of Chancery case of In re Walt Disney Company Derivative Litigation was decided, setting important precedents in corporate law and fiduciary duties of corporate directors.

5) On March 9, 2014, Delaware Governor Jack Markell signed into law the Delaware School Safety and Security Act, which implemented new safety procedures and measures to protect students in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012.
