3. May 20th, 1897, marks the birth of prominent Mormon leader and educator, J. Reuben Clark. Clark served as a member of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was an advocate for religious freedom and constitutional rights.

4. May 20th, 1976, saw the opening of the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. The facility has since hosted a wide variety of events, including concerts, conventions, and sporting events.

5. On May 20th, 1914, the Utah State Capitol building was dedicated in Salt Lake City after several years of construction. The neoclassical structure serves as the headquarters of the Utah State government, and is a popular tourist attraction.
