2. On May 29, 1937, the first electric power line was completed from Hoover Dam to Los Angeles, stretching through Utah and several other states. The line was part of a project to bring electricity to the southwestern United States.

3. The Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics torch relay passed through Utah on May 29, 2001. The torch was carried through several cities including Logan, Ogden, and Provo, before arriving in Salt Lake City for the opening ceremony of the games the following year.

4. On May 29, 1868, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck southern Utah, causing significant damage to buildings and infrastructure in the region. The earthquake was felt as far away as Salt Lake City and Colorado.

5. In 1959, the first episode of "The Rifleman" aired on television, starring Utah-born actor Chuck Connors. Connors grew up in Utah and played basketball for the University of Southern California before pursuing a career in acting.
