1. The Razorbacks had a historic win on November 11, 2006, when they defeated the No. 2 ranked Tennessee Volunteers in a triple overtime game. This was Arkansas' first victory over a top-ranked team since 1981.
2. In 1921, the first legal bridge over the Arkansas River was opened between Little Rock and North Little Rock. The bridge was named the Memorial Bridge in honor of the soldiers who had fallen in World War I and is now known as the Junction Bridge.
3. On November 11, 1918, Arkansas, along with the rest of the United States, celebrated the end of World War I. The Arkansas Gazette declared the day to be a "historic day," and celebrations took place in cities and towns across the state.
4. In 1913, the Little Rock and North Little Rock streetcar systems were connected by a bridge over the Arkansas River. This connection allowed for easier travel and commuting between the two cities.
5. The Arkansas Pony Express was established on November 11, 1860. This mail service used horseback riders to deliver mail across the state starting in Memphis, Tennessee, and ending in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The service operated until the outbreak of the Civil War.
