1. On November 19, 1896, the Missouri state legislature adopted a resolution to establish the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla. The school would later become known as the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
2. November 19, 1914, marked the unveiling of the Missouri World War I Memorial in Jefferson City. The monument honors the state's veterans who served in the war and features a bronze statue of a soldier atop an 18-foot tall granite column.
3. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy visited Springfield, Missouri, to speak at the dedication ceremony for the new O'Reilly General Hospital. The facility was named in honor of U.S. Congressman Dr. John O'Reilly, who had worked to secure funding for the hospital.
4. On November 19, 2003, Missouri's first bioscience research park, the Missouri Research Park, opened in St. Charles. The park was designed to attract and retain businesses in the bioscience industry and has since grown to include multiple research institutions and companies.
5. November 19, 2011, was the date of the 100th meeting between the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas in the longstanding football rivalry between the two schools. Missouri won the game 24-10 in its final season as a member of the Big 12 Conference before moving to the SEC.
