1. Wyoming became a state on November 2, 1890. It was the 44th state to join the Union and is known as the "Equality State" for being the first state to grant women the right to vote and hold public office.

2. On November 2, 1905, the University of Wyoming was founded. It is the only four-year public university in the state and has educated many famous alumni, including Dick Cheney and Matthew Shepard.

3. The town of Lusk was founded on November 2, 1886. It is the county seat of Niobrara County and is home to the historic Lusk Herald newspaper, which has been in continuous publication since 1886.

4. The largest recorded earthquake in Wyoming history occurred on November 2, 1914. The 7.3 magnitude quake was centered in the Gros Ventre Mountains and caused significant damage to Jackson Hole.

5. The famed outlaw Butch Cassidy was born in Beaver, Utah on November 2, 1866. Cassidy is known for his many robberies and escapes from the law, including the infamous "Wild Bunch" gang. He is rumored to have hidden out in Wyoming after many of his robberies.
