1. In 1910, the first aviation meet in the United States took place in College Park, Georgia on November 22. The event was sponsored by the Atlanta Journal and drew thousands of spectators. Pilots from across the country competed in various events, including altitude and distance contests.

2. On November 22, 1864, General William T. Sherman began his infamous "March to the Sea" campaign during the American Civil War. The 62-day campaign devastated much of Georgia as Sherman's Union forces burned and destroyed military targets, infrastructure, and civilian property in their path from Atlanta to Savannah.

3. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy visited Georgia on November 22 to attend the dedication of the new terminal at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. This was less than two weeks before his assassination in Dallas.

4. On November 22, 2005, the Georgia Dome hosted the first-ever solo concert by country music superstar, Garth Brooks. The event was a benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Katrina, and all proceeds were donated to relief efforts.

5. In 2017, Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm led the Bulldogs to a 42-13 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats on November 22, clinching the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Eastern Division title and securing a spot in the conference championship game. Georgia would go on to finish as national runners-up in the College Football Playoff that season.
