1. On November 25, 1803, the territory of Louisiana officially became part of the United States. This happened after France sold the territory to the US in the Louisiana Purchase.

2. Louisiana State University's football team, the Tigers, played their first game on November 25, 1893. They defeated Louisiana State University of Alexandria 26-0.

3. On November 25, 1915, the New Orleans Times-Picayune published a story about a group of women who chained themselves to the gates of the White House in protest of women not being able to vote. Many of these women were from Louisiana.

4. The New Orleans Saints played their first ever Thanksgiving game on November 25, 2010. They defeated the Dallas Cowboys 30-27 in overtime.

5. On November 25, 2019, a federal lawsuit was filed against the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office by the family of Keeven Robinson. Robinson, an African American man, died in 2018 after being arrested by sheriff's deputies. The lawsuit alleged that Robinson's death was caused by the use of excessive force by the deputies.
