1) On November 9, 1825, the Indiana General Assembly established Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana. This private liberal arts college has been a prominent institution of higher education in Indiana for nearly 200 years.

2) In 1950, on November 9, the Indiana Statehouse was officially dedicated after three and a half years of construction. The Indiana Statehouse is a beautiful example of 19th century architecture and is still used today as the seat of government in Indiana.

3) On November 9, 1974, Notre Dame quarterback Tom Clements threw a game-winning touchdown pass to tight end Robin Weber in the final minute of a highly-anticipated matchup against the University of Southern California. This victory secured a spot for Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl Classic.

4) In 1861, on November 9, the Indiana State Sanatorium for the Treatment of Tuberculosis was established in Rockville, Indiana. This institution played a significant role in the fight against tuberculosis in the early 20th century.

5) On November 9, 1862, Union forces led by General William T. Sherman clashed with Confederate troops in the Battle of Fayetteville during the Civil War. Although the Union forces were initially successful, the Confederates managed to hold their ground and preserve their position in Arkansas.
