2. In 1840, the first constitution of the Kingdom of Hawaii was signed, establishing a constitutional monarchy with a legislature and a bill of rights.

3. In 1879, the first telephone was installed in Hawaii by the Hawaiian Bell Telephone Company. It was installed in the home of businessman Samuel C. Allen in Honolulu and had a number of one digit - "1".

4. In 1949, Hawaii became the 50th state to join the United States. This followed more than 50 years of efforts by supporters of Hawaii statehood, including a formal request made by the territory's government to Congress in 1919.

5. In 2000, the Hōkūleʻa, a traditional double-hulled canoe, completed a historic round-the-world voyage, traveling more than 47,000 nautical miles and visiting 23 countries. The voyage was aimed at promoting awareness of the importance of preserving the ocean environment and the cultures of indigenous peoples around the world.
