1. On September 26, 1912, the first Milwaukee County Courthouse was completed. The building, which was constructed in a neoclassical style, served as the seat of government for Milwaukee County until 1931.

2. On September 26, 1957, Oskar Schindler visited his former workers in Milwaukee. Schindler, who had rescued more than 1,000 Jews during the Holocaust, had relocated to Argentina after the war. He made a brief visit to the United States in 1957 and chose to visit Milwaukee, where many of his former employees lived.
