1. The Idaho State Fair began on September 5, 1865, in Boise. It was originally called the "Boise Basin Exhibition" and featured horse racing, livestock shows, and agricultural contests. Today, the Idaho State Fair is held annually in August and September and attracts over 250,000 visitors each year.
