Can you tell us about yourself?
Hi, my name is Kacie Mack. I'm from Franklin Middle School. I'm a seventh-grade learning strategies teacher. I teach in Meadville, Mississippi. I've been at Franklin County for four years now.
Why did you start a career in education?
I loved working with the kids and seeing them learn new things and new ideas.
If you could have any other job what would it be and why?
I'd probably want to do nursing because I like taking care of people.
How are kids different than they were 30 years ago?
Well, I'm 35 and in school, it was totally different than it is now. They're more technology-driven now than they were whenever I was in school. Whenever computers were just starting to get in the classrooms.
What would you tell someone who wants to become a teacher?
I would say pick a good specialty, like something that you love. I love English and writing and reading and everything. And so that's why I love doing what I do is because I do that. If you're math-driven or science-driven or social studies driven to choose one of those options.
What would you change to help kids learn better?
Standardized tests. I think Standardized tests should be cut out because it's too much stress on kids to pass them. Thank you.
