I started a career in education because I really wanted to help children learn and feel comfortable in all that they did.
If you could have any other job what would it be and why?
If you could have any other job, I would love to be involved with fashion, some way making and designing clothes for women.
How are kids different than they were 30 years ago?
Kids are different now than 30 years ago because kids now really think that everything should be more their way and we should help them with everything. And I think they forget what it's like to do things on their own and have good skills.
How is Teaching different now than it was 30 years ago?
We have to do a lot more to help children learn to work on their own and try their best. Even when it's difficult.
What would you tell someone who wants to become a teacher?
If they're thinking of becoming a teacher to make sure they have lots of patients and that they truly care about making a difference.
What would you change to help kids learn better?
One thing I would change to help kids learn better is to have more time to spend with them in smaller groups so that we can make sure that they are learning the way that works best for them.
