Can you tell us about yourself? 

"Hi, my name is Tiffany. I've been teaching third grade for the last 15 years here in Utah." 

Why did you start a career in education?

"The reason why I chose to go into education was to hopefully have an impact and make a difference within a child's life." 

If you could have any other job what would it be and why?

"If I had to choose another job. Um, I've actually been thinking about this lately. I would definitely choose to be a speech pathologist where I could still make a difference in a child's life, um, but in a different path, which is going to ultimately affect their, their don't hold as like adulthood as they communicate with their peers and making sure that that speech impairment is correct." 

How are kids different now than 30 years ago?

"The difference between kids 30 years ago and now, um, I can project possibly from the 15 years that I taught it simply does different types of parenting styles, but parents are parenting their students. It's definitely coming out in the classroom of how of a huge shift is spent where, um, her decided to change their parenting style with, within the home and then it's coming out in the classroom that things have definitely changed within the last 15 years." 

How is teaching different now than 30 years ago?

"So teachers, um, as a teacher within the last 30 years, what's changed within the profession? I think, um, again, parents support has been different within the last 30 years." 

What is one thing you would change to help kids learn better?

"Okay. So the one thing that I think that I would change within the educational system right now is to have smaller class sizes. Right now we have 30 plus in our school. And just as I mentioned earlier, all the demands that are already placed on this, the, the, the teacher, it's really difficult to, um, have that many students in, make sure that everybody is up to par of where they should be. Um, because of the large classes."
